The chances of crab season starting in the North Coast is getting better as latest tests are showing domoic acid levels in Dungeness crabs continuing to drop.
The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) released the latest testing results Tuesday showing new results in the Eureka area. The tests that were conducted on December 30 showed domoic acid levels at an average of 17.8 parts per million (ppm) in Samoa and 31 ppm at the Eel River.
In Crescent City, the average domoic acid levels were at 23 ppm in Crescent City north and 17 ppm in Crescent City south from tests conducted that same day…
