This is a reminder that the California Halibut Trawl Bycatch Evaluation Virtual Workshop is coming up:

This interactive workshop will mirror the in-person session held in April and provide an opportunity to ask questions, share input, and engage directly with CDFW staff about the California halibut trawl fishery.
If you plan to attend and have not yet sent in your RSVP, please do so by Sunday, June 1 by emailing mlmafisheriesmgmt@wildlife.ca.gov. In your RSVP, please include your name and a brief description of your relationship to California halibut and/or California marine resources. We welcome participation from all interested stakeholders.
Pre-Workshop Survey – Slido:
Attendees are invited to complete a brief survey before the workshop. The survey will ask you to rank the species categories in priority order for consideration from highest (1) to lowest priority (11). Please reference the “Species Grouping Prioritization” attachment for a list of species that are included in each category. These survey results will be used during the webinar to discuss the various perspectives and considerations that meeting participants have regarding bycatch. These survey results will not serve as the finalized list for this evaluation, but merely a starting point to inform the considerations that may be incorporated into the development of the evaluation process.
