Throughout the entire month of September the California king salmon season has reopened after area closures were in place as part of the management measures deployed by the Pacific Fisheries Management Council. The fishery will be open in certain in sections of northern California for very short periods after September 30th in October and even one day in November. Seasons are established as part of a very detailed management plan for this iconic species involving processors fishermen, and state and federal biologists.
