Draft Principles and At-Risk Species Public Comment Period Extended to September 11th

The public comment period on the draft list of principles for determining species “at risk” of IUU fishing and seafood fraud, and the draft list of “at risk” species that was generated by applying those principles, has been extended.  These lists will serve as the basis for the first phase of a risk-based seafood traceability program. Full details can be viewed here.

Originally scheduled to close September 2, a Notice was published recently in the Federal Register extending the public comment period to September 11th. This additional time will provide further opportunity for the public to review and submit thoughtful comment.  You may submit your comments online or by mail.

You may also provide input and tell us your thoughts by joining a webinar on Tuesday, August 25, 3:30-5:00pm, Eastern.
