Recently, Will Stelle, West Coast Regional Administrator (RA), informed the agency of his intention to resign as the RA. The Office of Personnel Management is anticipated to post an advertisement in the next few weeks. While the recruitment process is underway, Will shall remain in his current position as RA. Once a new West Coast RA is selected and in place, Will intends to move into a new advisory position at the NOAA level, reporting directly to the NOAA Administrator. His NOAA portfolio will include several of the same issues he leads for the agency now, including California water and the Treaty-Rights-At-Risk initiative of the western Washington Treaty Tribes.
