The California Fisheries and Seafood Institute has assembled a growing number of influential entities to oppose the 1300% landing tax increase proposal, written by the Department of Fish and wildlife and included in the Governors proposed 2017-18 Budget.
An opposition letter has been written and can be viewed below (or click here to view the PDF). The intent of the letter is to show a broad coalition of opposition to the tax increase from the many entities that make up, or are allied to, the consumer seafood supply industry.
This letter has been delivered to legislative leadership and the entire legislature.
We will continue our campaign to oppose the DFW tax hike scheme and seek your participation with area legislators.
