IntraFish Presents: Plant and Cell-Based Seafood: A Threat or Opportunity? (Video)

On May 12, 2020 IntraFish hosted a panel discussion with some of the leading minds in the agri-protein sector to discuss plant-based and cell-based seafood. Like Beyond Meat and Impossible Foods, plant-based seafood and other alternatives such as cell-based seafood have drawn increasing attention from consumers, investors and seafood companies. But how should the seafood sector view these groups? Competitor? Partner? Acquisition target? IntraFish’s expert panel debates the topic.

Panel participants included: Roger O’Brien, President & CEO, Santa Monica Seafood; Lou Cooperhouse, President & CEO, BlueNalu, Inc.; Joost Matthijssen, Investment Director, Nutreco; Chad Sarno, Co-Founder & Senior VP Culinary, Gathered Foods Corp. / Good Catch Foods; and Dominique Barnes, Co-Founder, New Wave Foods.
