The past few months have been trying for us all. The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted so many lives and businesses. We have been and continue to be in direct communication with multiple agencies at the state and federal levels to provide the support and assistance for you to make it through this challenging time. Currently, CFSI is taking lead on the distribution of the $18.3 million CARES Act assistance.
As a gentle reminder, we want you to know that your membership with us is greatly appreciated and, if you haven’t already, we hope that you are able to renew your membership this year. We know it has been a tough year so far, and we fully understand it could take time to get back on your feet. But please know that it is with members like you that we are able to continue to do the work we do.
Your membership helped us address a number of issues to help keep your business thriving by:
- Serving as a legislative and regulatory watchdog for the seafood industry in California.
- Ensuring that imports are not impeded nor subjected to unreasonable regulations, restrictions, or new taxes on essential sources of nutritional seafood.
- Supporting efforts to promote aquaculture to meet future demand.
- Promoting access to local fisheries.
- Networking with other associations for mutual benefit.
Be sure to review the recent CFSI activities, accomplishments, and organizations with which we work.
As always, we and the board of directors that donate their time, thank you for your continued dedication to our work. We are here for you, and if there is anything you may need from us, please contact our Membership Director, Michael Lee, at michael@calseafood.net or me at info@calseafood.net or (916) 441-5560. My cell is (916) 812-4455. Especially now, we need each other.
