SNP: The Power of Coming Together in 2021

From the Seafood Nutrition Partnership:

A look back at 2021 shows us the Power of Coming Together and how we can impact health through seafood nutrition. I hope you will take a moment to read SNP’s 2021 Annual Report and see our collective impact. 

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Forming a National Seafood Marketing Campaign: SNP formed the National Seafood Council Task Force to educate the industry and policymakers on the public health benefits of eating seafood and the merits of educating American consumers on the health and nutritional benefits of eating seafood. 38 seafood companies joined the National Seafood Council Task Force in 2021 to encourage industry peers to support the formation of a National Seafood Marketing Campaign.
  • Consumer Education & Outreach: We continued to conduct the Eat Seafood America! consumer-facing campaign with the Seafood4Health Action Coalition, which has generated over 1.9 billion impressions to date and serves as an example of a potential national seafood marketing campaign. A fall pilot campaign showed an 800% return on investment for retail seafood sales.
  • Seafood Nutrition Science: The FDA and EPA released updated Advice about Eating Fish, which incorporated many of SNP’s recommendations and emphasizes the health benefits of seafood, particularly for children’s brain development.

This month we are launching a Summer of Science which will lead up to the 6th Annual State of the Science Symposium on Thursday, September 22, and the 2nd Annual SNP Honors Gala on September 21. Please save the dates and I look forward to seeing you there!
