Following the completion of California’s first “Decadal Management Review” of its Marine Protected Areas (MPAs), draft revisions to the MPA network are now available for public input, with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) currently reviewing and evaluating proposed changes based on petitions submitted to the California Fish and Game Commission; essentially, the state is looking to update or modify its MPAs based on the review’s findings and public feedback.
