Please Join the California Fisheries & Seafood Institute for Another Successful Year

Like you, we are glad to have turned the corner on a couple of years that none will forget. By working together, we are now prepared to be more effective, more productive, and far more successful.

Your membership with us is greatly appreciated and we hope that you will renew your membership in 2022.

You helped us address a number of issues to help keep your business successful by:

  • Advocated for and assisted CFSI members with COVID-19 relief programs including:
    • $7430.00 CARES Act payments to many CFSI members.
    • Paycheck Protection Program (PPP).
    • Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDL).
    • Restaurant Revitalization Fund.
  • Serving as a legislative and regulatory watchdog for the seafood industry in California.
  • Ensuring that imports are not impeded nor subjected to unreasonable regulations, restrictions, or new taxes on essential sources of nutritional seafood.
  • Supporting efforts to promote aquaculture to meet future demand.
  • Promoting access to local fisheries, assisted in federal disaster payments for crab, salmon, sardine, and urchin.
  • Networking with other associations for mutual benefit.
  • Co-Sponsoring SB 80 (Commercial Fishing: Inspection: Crab Trap), which provides a regulatory path for the Department of Public Health, Food and Drug Division to allow crab to be processed when Domoic acid levels are higher than allowed by law in the viscera (but not the meat).

Be sure to review the CFSI activities, accomplishments, and organizations with which we work here.

Membership is the lifeblood of all organizations. We thank you for your investment in CFSI, which, in turn, is an investment in your company. (Membership renewal invoices have been emailed to all CFSI members. If you did not receive yours, please contact us.)

As always, members of the board of directors donate their time, and guide our policy work in critical areas in legislative and regulatory challenges. Board members represent every sector of the seafood industry.

Since 1954, we have been here for you, and if there is anything you may need, please contact our Membership Director, Michael Lee, at michael@calseafood.net or me at info@calseafood.net or (916) 441-5560. My cell is (916) 812-4455. Especially now, we need each other.

Sincerely,

Rob Ross, Executive Director
