Drought Forces Difficult Decisions Regarding the Sacramento River

Last week, state and federal officials announced the outline of a revised plan for managing water flows in California’s Sacramento River for cities and farms while keeping enough cold water in Shasta Reservoir to support endangered winter-run Chinook salmon. Ongoing drought conditions are forcing officials to make difficult decisions on water allocation.
