California law requires companies with 50 or more employees to provide two hours of sexual harassment prevention training to all supervisors:
- Within six months of hire or promotion
- Every two years thereafter
CalChamber recommends you train all nonsupervisory employees as well.
In fact, new Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA) requirements, effective April 1, 2016, highlight an employer’s affirmative duty to take reasonable steps to prevent and promptly correct harassing, discriminatory and retaliatory conduct in the workplace, regardless of number of employees.
