Americans Are Cooking More Seafood

Courtesy of Seafood Nutrition Partnership (SNP):

Earlier this month the New York Times reported that a quarantine surprise has been that Americans are cooking more seafood and Nation’s Restaurant News shared Datassential findings that Americans crave and miss seafood the most after Mexican food. As the COVID-19 crisis continues to impact our public health and economic health, it is beginning to reveal that American consumers are opening up their eating habits to include more seafood. We have a once in a lifetime opportunity to help Americans embrace the vital benefits of sustainable seafood for our health, our planet’s health, and our economy’s health. Seafood checks the box on:
  • Supporting immune health and reducing chronic disease risks.
  • Bringing deliciousness and variety to our meals as we cook more.
  • High sustainability standards for wild and farmed seafood in the US seafood supply chain.
