Santa Monica Seafood Expands Rancho Dominguez Distribution Hub

Santa Monica Seafood has begun a major expansion project at its facility in Rancho Dominguez, California. As a vital hub serving seafood customers across more than 40 states, the Southern California location is upgrading its cold storage, packaging, and distribution capabilities to increase operational efficiency.

Expansion Highlights

  • Facility Modernization: The project will renovate approximately 13,000 square feet, modernizing 9,000 square feet of warehouse space dedicated to storage, packaging, and distribution operations.
  • New Cold Storage Capacity: A key feature is a new 4,000-square-foot cooler maintained at 35°F. It will house specialized packaging lines, ambient rooms, and upgraded refrigeration equipment.
  • Infrastructure Upgrades: Additional enhancements include updated HVAC and electrical systems, modified fire protection, and new insulated wall and ceiling infrastructure.
  • Continuous Operation: Krusinski Construction Company (KCC) is leading the construction while the facility remains fully operational to prevent disruption to ongoing distribution.
  • Project Timeline: Completion is scheduled for October 2026.

This major investment reinforces California’s critical role in national seafood processing and distribution infrastructure.
